True Real Estate is serious about keeping our clients and agents healthy in these unprecedented times. We have implemented the following safety procedures, please take a minute to read this very important information.
Our Office has Gone Virtual
True Real Estate went virtual ever since our office closed in March 2020 and shall remain so at least until a vaccine for COVID-19 is readily available. All of our licensed real estate professionals work from home and will continue to do so. As it turns out, this saves everybody commute time, gas money and limits unnecessary exposure to the coronavirus. All of our agents are easy to reach through phone, text, email and virtual meeting apps.
Showings
Showings are now limited to four on any given day. We meet at the first home, condo or parcel at the specified time. Then, taking separate vehicles, we move onto the next property. Children and pets are prohibited, principles only. And of course, if you’re not feeling well, please reschedule. We’ll be here when you feel better!
Most listing brokerages and many homeowners/condominium associations have their own COVID-19 policy regarding showings and open houses. To protect you from possible exposure to the virus, True Real Estate requires sellers or their listing agent to take our quick survey before the showing. This is done to make sure everyone is feeling well and that no one at the subject property has been ill. We also make sure the home has been properly cleaned and that commonly touched areas are sanitized.
Besides social distancing, buyers are asked to minimize time spent inside the home. The days of handshakes and the exchange of business cards are gone. We don’t even fist or elbow bump, as that wouldn’t be practicing social distancing! Also, do NOT touch anything inside the home unless it is absolutely necessary, even with disposable gloves!
Before the showing, sellers are encouraged to leave all windows and doors open whenever possible. Sellers are also asked to vacate the home twenty minutes prior to our previously arranged arrival time. We send them a text to let them know when we are finished.

In addition, our agents are equipped with a non-contact, infrared digital thermometer gun to detect monitor skin temperature. If anyone has a fever, we reschedule. Both the Centers for Disease Control and the Harvard Medical School define a fever as a body temperature of 100.4 °F or more.

Tours of Sarasota, the Barrier Islands and Neighboring Areas
Tours of Sarasota, the barrier islands and neighboring communities are now done caravan style. You follow us in your car and we provide high-powered two way radios to communicate. This is still the best way to learn about our beautiful area, while sightseeing and having fun! As always, a complimentary relocation package and refreshments are available.
Virtual Open House vs Conventional Open House
We strongly suggest taking advantage of a virtual open house whenever possible. With 3-D technology, virtual staging, layout mapping and much higher resolution, virtual open houses are better than ever. And most listings have lots of pictures and professional video available online, 24/7.
Unless you are really interested in a particular home, we suggest you avoid physically going there. If in doubt, drive by the home first, taking in the curb appeal and merits of the neighborhood. If you do like the home and need more information, be sure to take the same “showing precautions” mentioned above before visiting the property for an open house.
